School Trip

November 21, 2007

We have now been on our school trip to Scotland Street School in Glasgow. It was scary when we went inside the classroom. Before we went into the class the girls had to get dressed in to pinafores and the boys had to change into shirts and ties. The teacher was called MISS GRANT. We had to write with ink. The first piece of work that we did was Maths. We had to do Maths on a slate. After we did Maths we started Spelling. The spelling was easier than the maths. We had to sing the National Anthem and do prayers. At the end MISS GRANT told us that she was not the real teacher. Everyone was so glad that we didn’t have to work as a 1930’s class anymore.

Time trip!!!

November 21, 2007

We just went on a school trip to the Transport Museum and Scotland Street School. It was very scary and
nervewracking at Scotland Street School. It was boring at the Transport Museum but the rest of the trip was good.

Our School Trip!

November 13, 2007

Recently our class visited Glasgow’s Transport Museum and Scotland Street School. We are doing a project on the 1930’s and 40’s so the visit worked in really well. At the Transport Museum we looked at the cars, boats, bikes and lots more. It was good seeing it all. We then got back on the bus and we went to Scotland Street School. We had to wear these horrible uniforms. The girls had to wear a pinafore and the boys wore a jumper and a tie. We stood in lines in the order of our height, then this scary looking women came out of the classroom and took us in four at a time. We sat in two’s at these old desks. We did spelling, maths, handwriting and making lists. We got to write with ink. A World War 2 classroom had no pictures on the walls, just a map of the world. In the end the teacher stopped acting and she was really very nice.

I think the trip to Glasgow was great fun!
